The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.
__Exodus 14:14 (ESV)
Very often, we try to fight our own battles instead of letting God fight our battles. I am not saying that we should do nothing, but we should do only what God leads us to do, when He tells us to do it, and how He tells us to do it. Otherwise, we should stand back, get out of God’s way, and let Him fight our battles. We should allow God to fight our battles His way, in His timing, and how He chooses to fight the battles. God knows how to handle it a whole lot better than we do. God’s ways are not our ways and His ways are higher than our ways. Therefore, we need to get out of God’s way.
We often hinder God’s help because we are trying to do something in our own human strength that only God can do. We need to take our hands off of it. We don’t need to help God. God doesn’t need our help. We don’t need to do God’s job. Let God do His job. Our job is to believe God!
You may have a situation on your job that is not going the way you hoped it would go. Therefore, you get in there and begin to try to straighten it out. You did not pray about it first. The Lord is constantly speaking to your heart telling you to leave it alone and to be quiet. After you have acted in your own way, spoken things you shouldn’t have, ignored the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and have been disobedient to God; you regret it because now the situation is much worse than before you got so deeply involved trying to solve it yourself.
We need to learn how to lean and depend on God and trust Him with all of our hearts. Situations will work out so much better for us, and we won’t wind up in so many difficult circumstances not realizing how we got ourselves into so much trouble. We will save ourselves a lot of heartache and pain.
God’s ways work if we will work them. That means, if we give God a chance to move on our behalf and stay out of His way, things will work out for us. We need to let it go and let God! We need to cast our cares upon Him. He is waiting to help us if we only give Him the chance. Give God a chance to solve your problems. He won’t let you down.
For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.
