Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.
__ 1 Corinthians 9:24 (AMPC)
We have a race to run! So we have to stay focused and keep our eyes on the prize. We are in a race, so we have to keep moving. We have to keep on going. We are running to win. We didn’t just enter the race for the fun of being in it. Winners don’t always take first place, but they must finish the race. So stay in the race.
In this race of fulfilling the call of God on our lives, at times we may get weary just like a person in a natural race. So we have to press on through difficult times in order to win. The devil doesn’t want you to win because he knows that if you win, you will become a world changer. Your life will change which will cause many other lives to change. Make up your mind that you are going to run your race, and you are going to run it to win. Be determined that you are going to be the one who ends up with the prize.
When you run the race, run it steady, active, and with persistence. When you get discouraged, you may have to say to yourself, “I will never give up! I am not only going to run my race, but I am going to win!”
Refuse to give up! Hang on in there! Keep on doing what you are doing. It may get hard sometimes, but don’t quit. Do it one more time. Stay in the race a little while longer. You have to stay in the race and don’t quit. It is easy to quit. Anybody can quit when the going gets tough. It takes a champion to keep pressing on.
You may get tired. You may feel disguised and hopeless, but stay in the race. Press on toward you goals. You can do it! God is right there cheering you on. Press in and press on! Keep moving. Be determined, and win the race that is set before you. You can make it if you try just a little bit harder.
Don’t be a quitter, be a winner. We have to press on and refuse to quit. Quitting is not an option. So focus and give it all you’ve got. God is on your side. “YOU ARE A WINNER!”
Prayer: Lord God, I thank You for the privilege of being in this race and for the determination to press on. I know without a shadow of a doubt that if You are for me, nothing can be against me. Thank You for cheering me on. Help me to hang on in there and be obedient to what you have called me to do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
