I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  __ Psalm 121:1-2 (MEV)

If you are feeling like you have tried everything you can, you have pushed yourself to the limit, you feel like you have come to the end of your rope, and it seems like things are still not working out for you. Don’t be discouraged. Don’t walk around with your head hung down.

I have a Word from the Lord for you. LOOK UP! Be encouraged. The Lord wants you to know today that you don’t have to be down and out. You don’t have to walk around with your head hung down. You don’t have to be depressed, discouraged, and in despair. That is not what God intends for your life. God loves you, and he wants the best for your life. The best is yet to come!

Sometimes when we are going through problems and facing challenges, we go to this person or that person. We try all types of things, but to no avail. Instead, you should say what is in the above scripture, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills.” Where does your help come from? Your help comes from the Lord.

If you are experiencing problems with sickness, with your finances, in your marriage, or whatever you are having problems with.  Don’t look at the situations around you. Don’t look down. Don’t look to the left or to the right, or behind you. Don’t look to people! Don’t look at the problem. LOOK UP to the One Who has the solution to the problem. Your help comes from the Lord.

Prayer: Lord God, I look up to you today because my help comes from You. Thank You so much for all of Your help in my life. You are a great and mighty God. Help me Lord, not to focus on the problems but to look up and keep my eyes on You. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Many of us make our own plans and ask God to bless them, but we should ask God to give us a plan and direct us on how to carry out His plan, His way, and in His timing.

We should make plans –counting on God to direct us. __ Proverbs 16:9 (TLB)

Have you ever played the game, “Follow the Leader?” “Follow the Leader” is a familiar game that is played and enjoyed by children all over the world. The rules for this game are, you choose a leader and you follow him wherever he goes and does whatever he does. You want to make sure you follow the leader exactly, and that you are not a quitter.

In our own lives as adults, we also play “Follow the Leader.”  We follow leaders at church, at school, in sports, leaders in our government, and in other areas of our lives. We have to make sure we choose a leader who will lead us in the right direction. We have a leader who we can depend on to always lead us in the right direction. The leader that is guaranteed to lead us right without fail is the Holy Spirit.

Many times in our lives, we believe that we know the solution to a problem without a doubt, but if we will just seek God about it and listen to the Holy Spirit, it will most likely turn out to be the opposite of what we thought it would be. God knows what is best. God is God and He sees the big picture. We think we know! That is why we need to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 21:2 says, “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts.

The Holy Spirit can impact our lives in a dynamic way when we choose to follow Him. The Holy Spirit can lead and guide us into God’s perfect plan and will for our lives! Start following the Leader, the Holy Spirit today!

Prayer: Lord, I ask you to help me to be led by the Holy Spirit in all that I do, and in every decision that I make. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it).  __ James 4:6 (AMP) 

Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God shown toward man. It is God’s undeserved kindness to us. Grace is God’s enabling power in us.

“God’s Amazing Grace!” If not for the grace of God, where would we be? God gives us grace, the power of the Holy Spirit, to help us to do what we cannot do in our own strength and power. God’s grace is truly amazing.

To many times we struggle and suffer when all we have to do is ask for God’s amazing grace to help us in our time of need. Instead of being frustrated and “Beating our heads against the wall,” trying to do things in our own strength, wasting our time trying hard to accomplish something that is completely hopeless, we need to receive God’s grace. We can’t do it in our own strength. We need God’s strength! We need to receive the grace of God. We need to pray and ask God for the help we need. When we pray, God knows that we are trusting Him. When we trust God, we are receiving His grace. Just say, “God, give me grace.”  If you ask in faith, God will give you the grace you need to do His will in your life, to get through the day, and to handle whatever situation you are going through.

Don’t just struggle and be frustrated, receive God’s amazing grace. Why should we struggle with something when God’s grace is available for us?

GOD GIVES US GRACE FOR LIVING SUCCESSFUL LIVES!

Colossians 2:6 (AMP) says, “As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him.

We received Christ totally by putting faith in God’s grace. By grace we are saved through our faith, but we must also live by grace through faith. God didn’t just give us grace (His empowerment) to save us from our sins; He also gave us grace to live successfully in this life. The grace of God is a free gift to everyone for salvation and for godly living.

Grace is the power of God to meet our needs, to solve our problems, and to help us in every area of our lives. We obtain this grace through faith to do anything we need to do. Our faith connects us to God’s grace, and we can use it in our everyday lives. So receive God’s amazing grace today!

Prayer: Lord, I need your grace each and every day of my life. When I get frustrated and begin to struggle in my own strength, help me to remember to ask you to give me the grace I need to accomplish my goals. Thank you for your amazing grace. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things. __ Philippians 4:8 (MEV)

Our thoughts are powerful! What we think about is very important because we are what we think.

Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) states, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he …”  

Whatever we think will eventually come out of our mouths. I like the following quote by Frank Outlaw:

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions.Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

In other words, whatever we think about will come out of our mouths. Those words  will then lead to actions. Our actions will become habits. Our habits will become our character (who we are). Our character will ultimately lead to our destiny (what we become). 

We have to be careful what we allow to occupy our minds because it will greatly determine what we will become. The best way to become the person you want to be is to change your thought life. You can change your life by changing your thinking. You can change your thinking by renewing your mind with the Word of God!

Philippians 4:8 gives us what we should think about. It tells us we should think about things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and things that are of good report. All of these are positive things to focus our thoughts on.

Like I said, our thoughts play a big part in who we are and what we become. Our thoughts will determine how much money we earn, our education level, where we live, the type of people we associate with, and what we become in life.  So let us begin to or continue to renew our minds with the Word of God daily, and become the person God intends for us to be.

Prayer: Father God, I ask You to help me to think on good things. Help me to continue to renew my mind daily with Your precious Word. Thank You for Your Word. It is in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Be yourself! Be the unique individual God created you to be! Never try to hide your uniqueness. Instead, be thankful for it. Don’t be afraid to be you. Be yourself. Who else is better qualified?

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else. __ Judy Garland

What is Confidence?  According to Webster, confidence is trust or faith; a feeling of assurance, especially self-assurance; security.

In the Greek, confidence is a quality of assurance that leads one to undertake a thing. It is the belief that you are able and acceptable. Confidence causes one to be bold, open, or plain.

Confidence is a belief that YOU CAN SUCCEED. Confidence and faith are virtually synonymous. Sometimes they can be used interchangeably. What it boils down to is this: Faith is Confidence in God. Do you have confidence in God?

Relax and be yourself! God made you an original, not a copy.

Ethel Waters said, “I know I’m somebody, ‘cause God don’t make no junk.”

Don’t try to be like somebody else. Be the best you, you can be. You are one of a kind. You are valuable to God.

So step out in confidence and be who God created you to be!

Prayer: Lord God, I ask you to help me to be the person you created me to be and to have confidence to be me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
