It is okay to say no. No is not a bad word. No is a very small, but powerful word. No is a word that makes a great impact on our lives. No can keep you out of a whole lot of trouble. No can keep you out of financial bondage. It can keep you from burnout. It can keep you from doing things that can cause health issues in your life. Learn how to say no!

No can keep you from burning out after you have stressed out trying to please everybody. To minimize stress in our lives and to be productive, we have to learn to say no to the good so we can say yes to the best. This means we have to set priorities and determine what is more important.

It is hard to say no to people, commitments, or situations because we don’t want to hurt other people’s feelings, make them angry, or disappoint them. We have to realize that it will be very difficult to be productive if we take on too many commitments. If we say yes to too many things, we will spread ourselves too thin and we won’t be able to do any of them well or in a reasonable amount of time.

Saying no can help you to be a very successful person in life, in ministry, and in business. Just say no! You will be glad you did. God will not be mad at you for saying no. Saying no is not wrong.

Don’t over burden yourself by saying yes to everything to the point it tears you down and you can’t even help yourself must less help someone else. There is just so much we can do. We have limits.
Sometimes we are too busy trying to please other people and make them happy that we don’t hear God speaking to us and trying to lead us in a different direction because He has something better for us. Just say no to the good and yes to God’s best!
Prayer: Lord God, I pray that You will help me to say yes when you want me to say yes and no when you want me to say no. Help me not to spread myself too thin and not be effective in any of the things that I do. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
